Dr Don Colbert

Dr Don Colbert is an anti-aging specialist and qualified physician who has aided many well known and ordinary individuals to use food and natural means as medicine to heal many of debilitating and chronic ailments; and reverse many often termed “incurable” illnesses.

Dr. Don Colbert graduated from ORU Medical School in 1984 and did his internship and residency at Florida Hospital. Dr. Colbert has been board certified in Family Practice for over 25 years and specializes in Anti-Aging medicine. He currently has a practice in Florida and recently opened an office in Texas. For years Dr. Colbert struggled with chronic autoimmune disease including IBS and psoriasis. After exhausting all the treatments that conventional medicine had to offer, he turned to a naturopathic doctor who recommended that he reduce his stress, get more sleep, and add fermented foods into his diet. Miraculously, his body began to heal itself. Dr. Colbert then dedicated his life to bring holistic healing to the world utilizing the power of nutrition and fermentation. He is a NEW YORK TIMES Best-Selling Author that has written over 40 books. Don Colbert, M.D. has been featured on The Dr. Oz Show, Fox New, ABC World News, The Atlanta Journal Constitution, BBC, Reader’s Digest, Newsweek, Prevention Magazine and many others.


Ernestine Sheperd

Our first health icon is Ms Ernestine Shepherd who is an African American female originally from Baltimore, who in her senior years is in a superb physical shape that is incomparable to and inspires many of us who are decades her junior. 'Ernestine Shepherd (born June 16, 1936) is an American bodybuilder who is best known for being, at one point, the oldest competitive female bodybuilder in the world, as declared by the Guinness Book of World Records in 2010; as of 2018 she is 83 years old and still an active, albeit no longer competitive, bodybuilder.' ( Ernestine who has washboard abs, impressive biceps and lives on three to four hours sleep ever night. Spurred into fitness with her sister Velvet at the age of 56, she previously had never done any exercise having been exempt from school physical education lessons as a child because of an injury she sustained in a car accident. 'Every single morning Ernestine Shepherd wakes up at 2.30am, embarks upon a 10-mile walk and then heads to the gym at 7.30am where she continues to work out and lead exercise classes until 11.30am. In addition to her exhausting-sounding fitness routine, Ernestine eats five to six small meals a day. These often include oatmeal, a handful of walnuts and crushed pineapple for breakfast, a baked white potato, chicken and asparagus as one of her lunches followed by brown rice, turkey and string beans and then sweet potato, tuna and spinach. These meals are also interspersed with 8oz glasses of liquid egg whites. After finishing her meal plans for the day, she tends to turn into bed at 10pm although “sometimes I’m up until 11” leaving just a mere three and a half hours before she wakes up and kick-starts her day all over again.'

Annette Larkins

The image of health, vitality and youth with a petite size four frame and a line-free face, Mrs Larkins is in fact 78 years old. The resident of Miami-Dade County, Florida, attributes her youthful looks to her raw vegan diet and grows almost everything she eats in the garden she refers to as her 'fountain of youth'. When Annette Larkins goes out with her husband of 54 years, people assume she is his daughter. The sprightly septuagenarian did not always eat this way. Husband, Amos, owned a meat factory in the 1960's and it was around this time that his wife decided to go vegetarian. 27 years ago she went one step further by turning vegan and now everything she eats is raw. Nothing cooked or processed every passes her lips. As we grow older, there seems to be a common trend: no one wants to look their age! But isn’t aging inevitable? By the time we are seventy or eighty, it seems to be pure destiny that we will have wrinkles, bald heads, and feel overall old. As we grow older, our energy and vitality seems to dissipate. But hold on - there may be a way to prevent aging to this extent - and it has a whole lot to do with what goes in your mouth. Don’t believe that food is a factor when it comes to the way you look? Well, lets take a look at someone who utterly defies that myth - Annette Larkins. What is so strange about this? Annette looks like your average, very attractive women who is maybe in her thirties. But she’s not in her thirties. As of 2018, Annette is 76 years old! It seems too amazing to be true. So how did Annette get to look the way she does, and reach that level of energy and vitality? Annette follows a raw vegan diet that consists solely of fruits, vegetables, beans, nuts and seeds. She also grows the majority of her food in her own backyard, and juices a lot of her food. Many people are quick to credit Annette’s good looks and vitality to her genes, but most of her family did not have the same fate as she did. In fact, both her mother and her grandmother died before the age of 50 of breast cancer. Yet, Annette has a pristine track record of good health, and she is unable to remember the last time she even had a cold. Here are some tips to feel and look your best at any age: Go vegan! - Making the original switch to a vegan lifestyle is what really pushed her towards long-term health. Removing meat and dairy from her diet allowed her to improve her energy and vitality; she finally decided to ditch all dairy and eggs after learning that they could cause excessive body mucus. Remove processed food - After making the switch to veganism, Annette took her health a further step by eliminating any type of vegan processed food or junk food. In particular, she took away white products such as white flour, white rice, and white sugar. Annette says that as she eliminated each of these unhealthy foods, she began to feel better and better. Eat a lot of raw food - All of the raw vegan options that are available at the Squeeze are right up Annette Larkin’s alley - she loves to eat her food raw. In particular, she focuses on eating a lot of leafy greens, such as collards, kale, or lettuce. In addition to this, she eats plenty of other vegetables, fruits, nuts, and seeds in their raw form. Juice - One of Annette’s favorite things to do is to juicing! Another reason why she would love the Squeeze - we have an abundance of both green juices and fruit-based juices. Annette always starts her day off with a juice. She also consumes plenty of “superfoods” - recently she has been loving wheatgrass! Get some exercise - In addition to her incredibly healthy diet, Annette makes sure to keep active every day. She has stated that she gets at total of at least eight mile of activity per day - this includes going on the treadmill, walking stairs, planting in her garden, dancing, and stretching.
